Sarah Palin Dumb as a Stump ?

"The “vetting” process on Palin was so rushed and so incomplete that they didn’t know — until it was too late — that she was dumb as a stump, had scandals galore in her past and would be a loose cannon." 

"According to the book — and movie — “Game Change,” 2008 Republican Presidential nominee John McCain’s presidential campaign staff found vice presidential pick Sarah Palin on YouTube.

After deciding to pick a woman to try and help McCain close the gender gap with Democratic nominee Barack Obama, the staff searched the Internet for female politicians and elected officials — prominent and obscure — to provide a jolt to McCain’s flagging campaign. 

And YouTube is where they found Palin, delivering one of her “moose-hunting soccer mom” speeches.  In the offices of Capitol Hill Blue, news of Palin’s selection brought shock and comments like “are you f—ing kidding me?” 

McCain strategist Steve Schmidt decided Palin was the game changer he needed.  He regrets the decision to this day but rationalizes it by saying “life doesn’t give do-overs.” 

The “vetting” process on Palin was so rushed and so incomplete that they didn’t know — until it was too late — that she was dumb as a stump, had scandals galore in her past and would be a loose cannon. 

But McCain’s selection of Palin plucked the obscure governor from Alaska — a state long known for political flakes — and turned her into a national phenomenon. 

Schmiidt originally defended his choice as one borne out of political necessity.  They faced a political pop culture opponent who’s charisma masked his lack of experience or ability so they decided to take a chance on creating their own instant celebrity who would appeal to the unenlightened, shallow political masses. 

What they got was disaster, a lightweight who played well for the cameras under controlled conditions but who didn’t know what the Federal Reserve was, who thought the Queen of England served as the head of state and who couldn’t name a single newspaper she read on a regular basis. 

Schmidt’s crass political move left the nation with a boil that remains today on the body politic. 

It showcases, more than any action is recent years,  the vapidness of the political landscape and the ever-increasing void of leadership in this nation. 

Perhaps it is ironic that McCain’s so-called “political professionals” found Sarah Palin on YouTube — a self-serving video web site with the motto: “Broadcast Yourself.” 

The video that sold Sarah Palin to the McCain campaign was placed on the video-sharing service by — the envelope please — Sarah Palin.

In other news...I've missed so much in the past week or so and have so much wonderful reading to catch up on.  I hear Malia is a force to be reckoned with, I just love her tenacity and her energy. Graduation is a Beautiful Thing: So where's the proof Sarah Palin graduated with a degree?

I had the privilege of attending three college graduations this past week, each and everyone full of cherished memories.  This was a truly emotional and spiritual experience that will never be forgotten.  So...umm

...where's the proof that Sarah Palin graduated with a degree in journalism or was it communications? She claims she has a degree in journalism, but sometimes she claims she has a degree in communications.  Sometimes she claims Trig was born in Wasilla, sometimes she claims he was born in Anchorage... So where's the proof?

There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign.

Is Bristol Still in Love with Levi ?

So Levi has clearly moved on with his life, he and Sunny seem genuinely happy and in love.  The road ahead no doubt will be bumpy but we wish them well.  It certainly won’t be easy for them; a big grey cloud named Palin will always be looming on the horizon, waiting to attack whenever necessary. 

Bristol's reaction to this news was expressed as “sadness” “anger” and “disgust”?  Those words speak volumes. They point to many unresolved feelings for Levi. IF Bristol were truly happy with Gino, Levi would no longer matter to her.  The truth is that Bristol is still in love with Levi.  So why can’t she let him go? Could it be that her own personal issues with jealousy, and low self-esteem had anything to do with the break-up? You betcha! They would certainly cause major problems in any relationship. But instead of taking responsibility for them, she is still placing blame on Levi.  She keeps repeating the infamous mantra taught to her by her momma “it’s not my fault”, “it's always someone else’s fault”, “I’m the victim”, "yadda, yadda, yadda" so on and so forth.  But what she doesn't realize is that as long as she feels anger or resentment for Levi, she is blocking herself not only from love but from the truth as well and it makes it impossible to move on, or to let go.

She is still mad at him; she blames him for the ruined relationship, it was his entire fault, she did not have total control, which is unacceptable.  Maybe he was unfaithful, maybe he was dishonest, but what ever it was he hurt her feelings and she can’t forgive him.  She is still jealous and insecure, this emotional disorder goes hand in hand with low self- esteem.  It's definitely rabbit hole material.

It’s obvious that she is dealing with some serious self-esteem issues, her jealousy for example has been a topic on many blogs, and is linked to having a poor self-image, insecurity, fear.  Cosmetic surgery at her age is cry out for approval and validation and social acceptance it will not solve her feelings of insecurity.  None of this was her fault though; she was not born that way.  Childhood and upbringing had a great deal of influence in that area; Perhaps physical or mental abuse, negative feedback (either from parents, family, teachers, authority figures, friends).  No feedback-which just as detrimental as negative feedback.  Lack of attention and encouragement, (parents always too busy, probably on their blackberries).  Embarrassing occasions, failures, all these or any of these could be contributing factors that shape self-esteem.  I truly believe she would greatly benefit from seeing a psychiatrist and talking through some of these issues so that she doesn't pass them on to her children as it has been passed on to her .  She needs to break the cycle and rise above.  

Has anyone enlightened her to the fact that “through the eyes of  a child” criticizing the other parent is the same as criticizing him or her and not necessarily the other parent.  Meaning every time she criticizes Levi, she is also also criticizing Tripp.   One day soon Tripp will be old enough to read that book she had ghostwritten and will be able to search the Internet, he will figure it all out, and he will resent her. 

My Advice for Bristol:

Life goes by faster that you think…and now it’s time for you to put on your big girls spanx and do what's right for your son.  You have the  power to stop this drama with Levi and make things right, for yourself and for Tripp.  Is your desperation for money and/or attention that bad that you need to trash your son’s father in public? Of course Levi should be paying child support, but it’s not like you are poverty stricken like most teenagers in your position. These are custody issues that should be handled in private and in the courts, not TMZ.   Bristol, stop listening to your momma, she needs an intervention- she needs help!   She is dragging you into her dysfunctional world of lies and vindictiveness, she has given you bad advice instead of trying to get you the help you need.  Maybe, just maybe things could have worked out with Levi,  instead you are having to "worry" about Tripp’s 10 half siblings. 

Money will never buy happiness no matter what your momma tells you. You will one day discover that the most important things in life aren’t things. Forgiveness is the key to your happiness in this situation and the only way you can move forward.

One more thing …it was interesting to read to that your concern for Tripp was his feeling of humiliation because of “half-siblings.”  Huh, Really? Half-siblings, only? Think about that one for a minute; especially when you go into your “trial marriage” with Gino.  Geez Bristol I thought you learned your lesson the first time.  But I digress; anyway as I understand it, this “humiliation” is called “projection” on your part (one "projects" one's own undesirable thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings onto someone else.)  The only way he will feel humiliated by having half-siblings is if he learns it from you.  Which reminds me have you ever read the poem “Children Learn What They Live”, one of my favorites:

Me too.  Well, plastic surgery ain't cheap, people.

Bristol is now going into a "trial marriage" with Gino Paoletti, aka ("flava" of the week).  I wonder if the Candies Foundation realizes yet that they pissed away $262,500 on a hypocrite?  Wouldn't that be like paying Osama Bin Laden to be an Ambassador and tell the world what a mistake it was to bomb the WTC.  Bristol...was the Candies gig your Grizzly momma's idea of perhaps finding a legal way of  doing the unethical and immoral in the name of non-profit, for selfish reasons?  You know, just like Chile earthquake. You see Bristol, the right thing would have been to volunteer your public speaking, that way the $262,500 would have truly helped desparate teenage kids instead of paying you, the unqualified daughter of an unqualified quitter, for getting knocked up too early.  Nice way of stealing money that was donated? Bristol you do not have the skills or the talent to make that kind of money, so why do you accept it?  Is it because you are an opportunist?  Here you go:

If I did it ... If I birthed Trig

If I birthed Trig at 6:30 am, I would not be sending emails or thinking about work at 8:30 am.  I would just want to hold and cuddle my baby. 


If I birthed Trig, a precious DS preemie with a hole in his heart and jaundice I would question the hospital if it was too soon to go home.  Had he met all the criteria needed for such an early discharge.  Was 36 hours enough time to evaluate him?

         

If I birthed Trig, I WOULD NOT go back to work 48 hours later. Family always first!




If I HAD go back to work I would be very uncomfortable for many reasons --recovery is not easy.  Everything is swollen; the embarassing postpartum wobble, the hormones, the "fluids" gushing, you get the idea.  (TMI, I know, sorry.)



        


If I birthed Trig and there were rumors he was my daughters child, I would not announce
her teenage pregnancy as proof to thwart off said rumors. 



If I birthed Trig, I would not schlep this precious boy around like a loaf of French bread, barefoot and half naked out in the cold for any reason – not for money and not for fame, not even for President. 



If I birthed Trig, I would look postpartum.

If I were in labor with my premature DS baby I would not by- pass a state of the art neo natal facility in Anchorage in lieu of a Podunk facility that is not equipped for ‘high-risk’



If I were in premature labor my doctor would not need to induce



If my doctor needed to induce a premature labor he/she would wait and send us to neo-natal facility that is fully equipped with an NICU just in case, I would insist !



I would have lots pictures with my baby within hours of this “easy” birth




My hospital would not allow my preemie baby with a hole in his heart out into a germ-infested hallway for a photo-op with his grandparents

          



My preemie baby would not look like he weighed 10 pounds and would be in an NICU

Another Stupid Ghostwritten Facebook Post for Sarah Palin

There she goes again...

In her daily struggle to remain relevant Sarah Palin once again attacks President Obama, this time for his open mic remark to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, simply mentioning that he would have "more flexibility" on missile defense after the election. 

So via one of her favorite comment controlling bunkers (her ghostwritten Facebook page of course) she continues to spew her rhetoric, doing the GOP's dirty work.

(Start screech here/snark) "Whoever chooses to merely dismiss the significance of today’s exchange between our president and Russia’s president should have their intelligence and patriotism questioned."  (End screech here/snark)

Patriotism.  That is the word for today.  That is the word that stuck out for me in that sentence.  Of all people in all the towns and all the world to question patriotism- Sarah Palin.  The darling of the AIP, who courted the AIP, who's HINO (husband in name only, Todd Palin) was a member of the AIP for years.  Why is she constantly questioning patriotism; in her books, in her speeches everywhere and anywhere always questioning patriotism? Could it be a convenient cover for bigotry, perhaps? Could it be a tool of control in order to justify killing innocent people and doing it in the name of protecting our "Freedom"- that is immoral and would that belief of immorality make me unpatriotic?  I am proud of our country, our history our culture and our traditions, and protecting those values is what matters that is true patriotism.  But believing that your country is "best ever" only and exclusively and having hatred for those who choose a different life and believe in different values is not only arrogant but also ignorant and pathetically the latter is Sarah's version of patriotism - -it is evil and vicious. That is the immoral definition of patriotism. Sarah, you have no right questioning OPP (Other People's Patriotism) and more importantly questioning intelligence, really? Have you read my last post?
